Assessment process.
- 1 Check your occupation is assessed by VETASSESS and identify the correct ANZSCO code.
- 2 Gather your qualifications (certified copies of degrees, transcripts, and translations if needed).
- 3 Prepare employment references - detailed letters from employers describing your duties, dates, and hours.
- 4 Submit your application online through the VETASSESS portal with all supporting documents and pay the assessment fee.
- 5 VETASSESS reviews your application and may request additional information.
- 6 Receive your outcome letter - positive, negative, or partially positive.

Tips.
- Employment references must clearly describe your duties - generic job titles are not enough. Ask employers to list specific tasks that match the ANZSCO occupation description.
- VETASSESS requires at least one year of relevant post-qualification employment in the last five years. Plan your application timing carefully.
- If your qualification is not an exact match, VETASSESS may still give a positive assessment if your work experience compensates. Include as much detail as possible.
